Bali Day 4

Bali Day 4

A lazy day. The kids studied in the morning. There was no planned activities. But the kids managed to entertain themselves playing in the room.

Afternoon, we went out for lunch and I went to change money. I went to 2 changer. The first one after the change took back some money for commission. I said no and took back my money. I have asked whether there is commission - he answered no. So why now. I refused.

The second changer was a real experience. He tired to confuse me with the zeros. First he give stacks of notes of 50000. While I am counting, he distracted me by taking back the other stack to count. The first count he shortchange me 50000. The second count he shortchange me with 400000 saying it should be 40000. I spent quite time there and he tried to wear my patience. But I perish, because every time I count, he will tried to take another stack to count - I know that my doing so, not only he distract my counting but also he tried to stack together what he had count to convince me that this stacked is counted and is ok. In the end I took back my USD. Check it and left.

I went to another change, with less exchange rate. I change only a 100USD instead of 200USD to cut any confusion.

We spent the afternoon taking a taxi to Kuta  - a shopping area. Rach bought my dress. While the boys spnt the time at the beach - taking sunset.

To bless the kids who has been eating with us at warung - small food stall that usually sell rice with mix vegetables, we ate Mac.

A simple day.

Bali Day 2 and 3

Bali Day 2 and 3

We spent the morning having breakfast at Mac. The coffee is not refillable and they don't have fresh milk for Rach coffee. Pepper for my muffin is not black. Kind of a culture shock.

I was nearly knock down by a car when crossing the road. The car came from behind and overtake the opposite lane. The obvious is to look at the right when you cross the first lane to look out for car that comes from the opposite lane. He cut he lane and ran into the opposite lane. This is Bali.

We spent the day at the beach. The kids made sand ball and buggie boarding. All three manage to do it. Jo is good at it even though the board is smaller than the rest. The only disappointment thing is that we are "con" for 3 children tattoo for 50 sing dollars! The consolation is I managed to make it back that night from forex.

I called a driver and we are awake at 3am and ready to take a drive north to see dolphins. The ride was smooth but it took us about 2.5 hours. The boatman was Komiong - 081936200004. The kids are excited by the boat ride. They are more excited when we have our first sightings. The boatman went an extra mile when he drive us to another location. The first location has only one or two dolphins. We pray and I pray for a school of dolphins. And guess what - we has many close encounters with a school of dolphins! God answered our prayers and to add to that I ask in which direction will the dolphins be from - o'clock from Jer 3:33 a verse that I read from Sunday time alone with God.

The rest of the day journey brought us to hot spring, waterfall and a temple.

Deb was sick in the morning - she had a swollen eye before her right eye. We brought her to see a doctor, which hopefully bring the swell down.

Bali June 2014

Bali June 2014

Day 1
We flew on the 17th June to Bali. The kids were all so excited. Matty was asking when are we leaving. Rach ordered a Maxi cab - a spacious can that take all our luggage including the 5 of us. It start right with the holiday mode.

The plane journey was a smooth one - a short one of 2.5 hrs. All of us watch movie with the individual in-flight entertainment. By the time the plane touch down - I did not even know it. Usually I will pray before the plane touch down. The children did not really like the food.

Our driver picked us up at the airport and drove us to our apartment at Seminak. It is a 2 bedroom apartment, a very simple one, but at least sleep all in one roof with a kitchen too.

I asked the driver to helped me do up the telecommunications. It was just less than 4SGD to get a pre-paid card that enable me to make calls locally so that I can arrange trip and for any emergency calls.
